Charles Rocket (born Charles Claverie; August 24, 1949 – October 7, 2005) was an American actor, comedian, and musician. He is best known for his tenure as a cast member on Saturday Night Live (SNL) and for his roles in films such as Dumb and Dumber and Hocus Pocus.
Early Life and Career: Rocket began his career in local theater and music scenes. Before SNL, he was part of a comedy group called the Prague Rock Band.
Saturday Night Live: Rocket joined Saturday Night Live in 1980 as part of a new cast that replaced the original Not Ready for Prime Time Players. His single season on the show was controversial.
Career After SNL: After leaving SNL, Rocket found success in film and television. He was known for his comedic timing and ability to play quirky characters. Some of his notable film credits include Earth Girls Are Easy, It's Pat, and Stealing Harvard. He also appeared in television shows like Moonlighting and Max Headroom.
Death: Charles Rocket died on October 7, 2005, at the age of 56. His death was ruled a suicide.
